In the commercial sector you will need to apply the skills and knowledge gained whilst in the Police. The commercial sector, however, presents a new challenge. Clients may well prefer not to follow the guidance given in Police guidelines or Home Office literature. When Police offers advise on say CCTV systems, they might recommend that the client install as system that meets certain criteria to help identify offenders and assist in their prosecution. It should be realised that that a client may wish to use the CCTV for their own operational requirements and not wish to get involved in potential court prosecutions. They may not want any adverse publicity. A
security consultant must act in the best interests of the client. The
cost and financial implications for the client are usually paramount.
Because Police officers have had no involvement with pricing, budgets
and sales training, this course is designed primarily to ensure that the
consultants elicits the precise requirements of the client. The successful
consultant needs to identify the needs of the client and then put together
a proposal that clearly shows how the consultants can provide a solution
that will benefit the client. |
